Advertising
Advertising is a particular form of communication that uses creativity to inform new and existing customers about products and/or services of the particular company. The other purpose of advertising is to inform customers how to obtain and use the products/services. Advertising not only informs customers of the products but advertisements are designed to generate an increased awareness and usage of the product or service. Many companies rely on their brand image and brand loyalty to generate profit, so advertisements are used to show the best points of the product the company offers.
Advertising is the process of combining factual information and persuasive techniques in order to relay a specific message to consumers. Advertising spans the communications field with an opportunity to advertise a product or service in a variety of places and with the use of a variety of different media. Most common advertising spots are found on television, radio, magazines, newspapers, movies, video games, billboards, and the Internet. Internet advertising has become increasingly popular because the advertisers can modify the messages and target any particular group they want to get their message to.
Other less common places to see advertisements (but still just as effective) are on walls of public areas, sides of buses, grocery carts, in-store public address systems, and telephone hold messages. Advertisements are placed in particular areas that will been easily eye-catching. The purpose of the advertisement is to get the message to the consumer quickly because they are most likely on the move.
When choosing the proper form of advertising for your company, you will need to decide where the majority of your customers are access your content. If your business is Internet driven, online and website advertising is a great choice. If your business is hard land based, print and person to person contact may be more beneficial.
